Winter at Custer State Park. Jan 12, 2011

Beautiful scenery.

O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!
Psalm 8:1
The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer;
my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge.
He is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.
Psalm 18: 2
He set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand.
He put a new song in my mouth
a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear and put their trust in the Lord.
Psalm 40:2b - 3

We enjoyed a drive through Custer State park with our good friends.
It was a blessing to see Gods beauty and be reminded of Gods majestic creation.
Our friend, a pastor for over 55 years, shared many memorized scripture with us.

This is Crazy Horse mountain carving from the highway. This is huge, they say that Mt Rushmore would fit into the hole under the pointing arm. No wonder this mountain carving of a Indian on his horse is taking many years to complete.

For who is God besides the Lord? And who is the Rock except our God?
2 Samuel 22:32

"The Lord lives! Praise be to my Rock! Exalted be God, the Rock, my Savior!'
2 Samuel 22:47

The walk paths look very different with the snow cover!

I loved the way these beautiful bright sun rays were shining down over the unmarked snow.
Let the light of your face shine upon us, O Lord Psalm 4:6b

I love the natural camouflage of the animals.

Antelope were licking salt from the road and weren't even concerned that we were next to them.

The area below is the corals for the hundreds of buffalo when they are sorted and sold down after the fall buffalo roundup.
Hay for a select few yearlings. I'm not quite sure why.

The rest of the large herd are left to live of the thousands of acres of snow covered park land.

They were very interested in us!

I guess they were more interested in our vehicle, licking the road salt of the Tahoe.
I guess you could say we got a prairie car wash!

Just outside the window, they were very gentle - - - - this time!

More of those camouflage animals. We saw a lot of deer too.

You are resplendent with light, more majestic than mountains rich with game.
Psalm 76:4

We saw the wild donkeys and a coyote but we were too far away for a picture.

The dark big Buffalo look beautiful against the snow covered ground.
