The Triumphal Entry

Luke 19:30-31 Go to the village ahead of you , and as you enter it, you will find a colt tied there, which no one has ever ridden. Untie it and bring it here. If anyone asks you, "Why are you untying it?' tell him, 'The Lord needs it.' "

The next day the great crowd that had come for the Feast heard that

Jesus was on his way to Jerusalem.

They took palm branches and went out to meet him shouting,

"Hosanna!" "Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!"

"Blessed is the King of Israel! " John 12:12-13

JESUS WASHES HIS DISCIPLES' FEET

John 13:5-7 After that he poured water into a basin and began to wash his disciples' feet, drying them with the towel that was wrapped around him. He came to Simon Peter, who said to him, "Lord, are you going to wash my feet?"
Jesus replied, "You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand."


When evening came, Jesus arrived with the Twelve.
While they were reclining at the table eating, he said,
"I tell you the truth, one of you will betray me--- one who is eating with me."
They were saddened and one by one they said to him, "Surely not I?"

THE LORDS SUPPER

Mathew 26:26 While they were eating, Jesus took the bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying, "Take and eat; this is my body."

Then He took the cup, gave thanks and offered it to them, saying, "Drink from it, all f you. This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins."

Then Jesus went to the garden of Gethsemane to pray, Jesus was arrested, taken before the Sanhedrin, Peter disowns Jesus, Jesus taken before Pilate,

then Jesus was Sentenced and Crucified, died in our place and buried.

Jesus Appears to Mary

Mark 16:9-11
When Jesus rose early on the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had driven seven demons. She went and told those who had been with him and who were mourning and weeping. When they heard that Jesus was alive and that she had seen him, they did not believe it.

I would ask you all to read the four Gospels, Mathew, Mark, Luke and John's accounts of Holy Week, the death and Resurrection of our Lord Jesus. It is just as if four of us had witnessed a special event and told in our own words. The figurines pictured above, that I have purchased through the years, help in my Holy week observance, as I stop, meditate, reflect and worship My Savior,who gave His all for me and you that we might have life here in this world and life eternal with Him in heaven!

My husband told me this is it, this is the only gift you are getting for the rest of 2009! Well, all I have to say is at my age, time goes quite fast so that is OK,
2010 will be here before we know it!

Yesterday we took it out for a drive in the hills. That's why it has a little snow and dirt on it. We even let out DOG go for a ride with us! Now we are a TWO TAHOE family! At least for awhile. We did trade the Dodge burgundy town and country van. We had been looking around for awhile to find a nice newer Tahoe and this is it! Now we look like the secret service guards that protect the very important people in our country.

We even found some snow covered roads to try out the 4 wheel drive.



It was a beautiful 45 degree day for checking out several local lakes.


It's not new, only new-to-us!




Our dog had fun running around as we made several stops in the hills.

My husband even tried out a few casts but nothing was biting. It was still a little cold with the wind.

One last picture of our dog as he tried to encourage me to follow him to who knows where! It was a fun day!

The big picture of the Fargo Flood

I have a lot of relatives and friends who live in Fargo or in the area of the dangerous flood.
I have been praying for Gods good and gracious hand to guide and protect them. The site below shows many wonderful pictures of how people come together to help each other in times of need. Disasters turn our hearts back toward Christ Jesus who loves us and gave His life for us all on the cross of Calvary, who won the battle over death that we might all live eternally with him in heaven.

The ROBIN

Yes! It is storming here today! Yesterday was 80 degrees, just like summer! Today it is very windy, snowy and cold. We haven't seen many Spring Robins yet but today one found some shelter from the storm. You can see he is on our patio, under one of our lawn chairs.

He sure looks sweet out there and a little cold as well. Visibility has been bad and the interstate has been closed along with almost all schools and business's.

The moisture is great! We can handle the snow storm and keep all those in the Tornado watch in NE. and those fearing the flooding in ND in our thoughts and prayers!

Donut Kebabs

YUM-YUM DONUTS! or should I use the formal spelling, DOUGHNUT'S.

There are so many flavors and types,
Glazed, Chocolate, sprinkles, maple frosting's and others. Don't you wish you could taste them all?


That is my feeling when I see a box full of delicious, fresh DONUTS.


Last Saturday it was my turn to serve for LWML, our Lutheran ladies group at church. I purchased the donuts and had an idea!





YOU GOT IT! DONUT KEBAB'S! Another spelling for the same word is Kabob! We can use different meats, vegetables on a skewer, why not DONUT"S?

Now with the alternating pieces of DONUT, each person can taste and enjoy several different donuts without the calories and getting overly full and bloated.

The ladies loved them and the tray was beautiful with 20 or more Kebabs .

I had planned to use this as a devotion. Comparing the donuts to different types of people and how Christ came to live, die, and save all people no matter how beautiful, colorful, rich or poor!

But I wound up using another devotion at the last minute. One that had been forwarded to me as a email. You have probably received this yourself.

Why did Jesus fold the Napkin? Why did Jesus fold the linen burial cloth after His resurrection? The Gospel of John (20:7) tells us that the napkin, which was placed over the face of Jesus, was not just thrown aside like the grave clothes. The Bible takes an entire verse to tell us that the napkin was neatly folded, and was placed at the head of that stony coffin.

Early Sunday morning, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene came to the tomb and found that the stone had been rolled away from the entrance. She ran and found Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one whom Jesus loved. She said, 'They have taken the Lord's body out of the tomb, and I don't know where they have put him!' Peter and the other disciple ran to the tomb to see. The other disciple outran Peter and got there first. He stooped and looked in and saw the linen cloth lying there, but he didn't go in. Then Simon Peter arrived and went inside. He also noticed the linen wrappings lying there, while the cloth that had covered Jesus' head was folded up and lying to the side.

Is that important? Absolutely! Is it really significant? Yes!
In order to understand the significance of the folded napkin, you have to understand a little bit about Hebrew tradition of that day. The folded napkin had to do with the Master and Servant, and every Jewish boy knew this tradition. When the servant set the dinner table for the master, he made sure that it was exactly the way the master wanted it. The table was furnished perfectly, and then the servant would wait just out of sight, until the master had finished eating, and the servant would not dare touch that table, until the master was finished. Now if the master were done eating, he would rise from the table, wipe his fingers, his mouth, and clean his beard, and would wad up that napkin and toss it onto the table. The servant would then know to clear the table. For in those days, the wadded napkin meant, 'I'm done'. But if the master got up from the table, and folded his napkin, and laid it beside his plate, the servant would not dare touch the table, because.....

The folded napkin meant, ' I'm coming back!'He is Coming Back!

I love cloth napkins and now every time I use a cloth napkin after a meal I will think of this!
