The lilacs have just opened, just in time for our light frost and 60 MPH wind yesterday. Normally the Lilacs are in full bloom For Mothers Day but not this year. Things are a little late due to lots of snow and the colder weather.
This is what they looked like on Mother Day. Very Pretty but not open.
This picture was taken yesterday on out very windy day. You can see the blossoms hanging on for dear life. They did a very good job and the light frost did not hurt them at all. We have two bushes, they are different shades of lavender. The earlier blooming is a way purpler color and the latter to open is pinker. They both have a very nice fragrance but a little different scent.
Cant you almost smell them?
Below is a Oak leaf! My Dad always tells me that when a
Oak leaf gets the size of a squirrels ear, its time!
So, I guess that is what I will do tomorrow, plant my sweet corn.
