As we visited my parents in March, everything was very white and snow covered. This is looking back at Durkins farm from where the "HALL" used to stand. Looking East toward where the Niagara Hall stood.
Looking North up Main Street. The big white building used to be Dons Locker and you can see the Lumber Yard next to it.
This is the South East corner of Main Street where Irenes Market was.
Did you realize Niagara had street signs?
The old Log Cabin
The old School house. This is at the South end of Main Street.
Thia is a bit out of place on my blog but this is one of the newer buildings in Niagara, and still very occupied, especially on Sundays. This is ST Andrew Lutheran Church. The old Church was located about 4 miles North of Niagara by the St Andrew Cemetery. This church has been in Niagara approximately 45 years.
This is the main operating Elevator in Niagara. This picture is taken from the North.
This is the same Elevator from the South.
The old Elevator that will be taken down shortly for safety reasons. Picture taken from the North.
The old Elevator only picture taken from the South. I love the NIAGARA sign from this location.
I have always loved the big red barn on the South end of Niagara.
I remember it as Tennison Barn. My parents told me it was originally the Steve Nason Barn. I believe he used to operate the Niagara Elevator. He used to hire school kids to pick rocks and also let people milk his cows for free milk. He had 3 traveling registered Stallions (one my father remembers was named "Hermon") they were used for breeding purposes. One was a Percheron and two were Belgians. Big work horses. He would raise and trade horses.
