ND Harvest

We certainly enjoyed our visit with my parents and brother and family the first week in Aug. I will share more pictures on a latter blog. I was very excited that at the end of our stay there was a couple of wheat fields ready for harvest. It's always a exciting time on our farm.
When I think of harvest, I think of how Jesus used terms that everyone could understand when teaching His word.
In Matthew 9 verse 37. "The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field."

This is my Nephew Jamie who runs this combine. His dad, my brother halls the grain to the granaries or into the town elevator. Sometimes he also bales straw not far behind the combine.

I love to watch the combine at sunset. The harvest dust makes such a red orange skyline.

I had the joyous pleasure to ride in the combine cab with my Nephew. It was a little dusty but well worth it.
Most years I get to ride a round or so with my father who also runs a combine. His combine is broken this year and my father is recuperating from a bad case of shingles. Please remember him in your prayers as this is a painful virus. I had a light case a few years ago and will never forget it. It's not at all fun!

Getting ready to unload the grain into the truck.

Here my big brother, Dale, unloads the grain. The picture above this one shows him opening the granary. His daughter and 16 mo old grandson watch.

16 month old Brayden thinks the combine is so big but also very interesting.

He wont believe this when he is 16 years old and possibly 6 ft tall!

Quite the little helper.

My brother, taking a bit of time to hold and walk with his grandson.
Grandchildren are such a wonderful blessing from God, we need to enjoy every minute.

Deuteronomy 6 verse 6 &7.
These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts.
Impress them on your children.
Talk about them when you sit at home and when you sit at home and when you walk along the road,
when you lie down and when you get up.
Proverbs 17 verse 6.
Children's children are a crown to the aged,
and parents are the pride of their children.
Proverbs 15 verse 13.
A happy heart makes the face cheerful . . .
1Thessalonians 5:16-18 " 16Be joyful always; 17pray continually; 18give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus".

What a great slide show. I'm so glad you were there to take these photos. They will mean the world to Dale's family now and in the future. Dale, you will be greatly missed!

It all seems like a dream! Last Monday evening when I was putting this blog together, I would have never believed that God would call Dale by name and take him home to heaven only hours latter. I know the timing of our visit, the pictures and this blog was no coincidence, God already knew!

Thank You God for your perfect timing, I am so glad I got to spend time with Dale less then 2 weeks earlier. He sang Happy Birthday to me one last time and I wished him a early Happy Birthday.
