A lovely day in the hills after the rain.

Psalm 8: 1  O Lord, our Lord,
how majestic is your name in all the earth!

First stop,  Sheridan Lake.  You can tell the lake is very high and this is the smallest I have ever seen this swim beach.     It is not as high as other areas and at least a boat can be docked if you want to back way far into the water.  You have to remember that these pictures were before the last 3 rain storms and at least 3 more inches.

This is the boat ramp that we normally use, you can see it is closed due to under,  way under water.  The whole parking lot and most of the road is under water.  The dot in the water is the top of a sign.  The light color is part of the parking lot.

I also enjoyed seeing some very beautiful birds in the hills.
Crossbeak , love the bird feeders for these mountain birds.

Big Bumble Bee on chokecherry blossom.

We love these walk trails down to the water and these sturdy steel
 benches that overlook Pactola Resevoir.

Blue bird or blue bunting.
This is the female, the male is more blue.

The Dam

Pactola Lake

Beautiful Pactola Lake Dam

This was way dry just a few years ago and now
you can see someone having to wade out to the Marina.

This is the veterans bridge with a foot
or more of water covering it.
Below,  I even got my feet wet in the high water at Pactola.
Bur-r-r  it was very cold and I could not walk in it too long.
This is the walkway that leads to the Veterans Bridge
 that is under water.

Pactola Dam from the other side.  North side

Yep,  this boat dock is definitely closed.

We stopped for lunch, One of those "BIG FAMOUS HAMBURGERS"  at the Sugar Shack.    The huge "Easy Glider patio" is just yards away. This is a very popular area during the August bike rally.

Lots of water this year.

Fast running water out of the banks.

I know these streams don't look bad
but they are 3 times their normal size.
Beautiful drive!

The Picturesk town of NEMO.

The strong winds, lightning, powerful loud thunder, and heavy rains remind me of God's great power and control over His creation.

The Lord speaks,  Job 38: 24 and 25  What is the way to the place where the lightning is dispersed, or the place where the east winds are scattered over the earth?  Who cuts a channel for the torrents of rain, and a path for the thunderstorm?
