The message for Confirmation Sunday was from 1 Cor 9:24-27 "Run to win". Confirmation is the opportunity for individuals to rejoice in and to reaffirm their Baptism, the time when our God adopted them into His family---then this is a blessed event in this person's life. We rejoice in the grace of God that claimed us as His sons and daughters in the water and Word of Baptism. We fully rejoice that He gives us His Holy Spirit to keep us in the one true faith as He works through the Word and the Sacraments.
This morning, May 2nd, 2010 13 young members were confirmed. This is the class that my grandson would have been confirmed with. I have taken these pictures to share with him his class mates confirmation. He will be confirmed June 13th because he moved to ND. Each Confirmand made a special banner with a special bible verse to help them remember this special day.
There were also 4 adults confirmed today. They are to the far right. Two of them are parents of one of the youth who was confirmed. What a special day when Baptism vows are reaffirmed.
The parents and sponsors went up front with the Confirmand.

Thank you for the post. I miss Zion and all the kids. They were running through my mind all day yesterday. I pray that the Lord will bless them as they continue to grow in him. Remember this is only the beginning not the end. Never Stop Learning and Believing.
