The Play

It was such a joy to see our oldest daughter in this cute, comical, musical play as Sister Amnesia.
She was the funny, ditsy nun who always had a big smile and something wise and cute to say.  She also sang several songs with her beautiful talented voice.

I got to attend the play both Friday evening with the rest of the family and again on Saturday evening with my 11 year old granddaughter. Here is a cute mother daughter picture.  They both landed a part in the upcoming play,  The Best Christmas Pageant Ever.  I would love to be there again to watch that play but it just isn't possible.     These plays are in a very cute little Loft Community Theater only a few miles from their home.

There were  "NO" pictures allowed during the play
so I took a few after the play and in the dressing room.

YEP, She looks just like a NUN.
Second from left is our 16 yr old grandaughter and she was the page turner for the main Piano player. You can see her below in the blue fixing her hair.   The third from left in the plaid shirt is another of the piano players and also good friend to our grandchildren.    The smaller one on the right is of course my 11 yr old granddaughter who you saw before.
(Oh my, that is sounding just as ditsy as Sister Amnesia.)
Here they are, everyone in the play,  all 5 nuns.

Below is a picture of our daughter as Sister Amnesia and our oldest granddaughter who also had to dress up as a page turner.  Our grandson played the lower part of piano and also had to dress in all black.  He looked very nice and almost like a pastor.  As you can see,  he did not want his picture taken, boys are like that, yes they are.
They are both beautiful and look a lot alike if I do say so myself.  I guess I could be a little prejudice.
We are very proud of our whole family but especially proud of this accomplishment.  It is something that has been put on hold for quite some time with having 5 children.

BAKER BIRTHDAY GIRLS

Our youngest granddaughter is already 5 yr old.  She had to wait a month for her Birthday gift from us, Nana and Papa.    It is always so much fun to get a late gift after you have already celebrated and opened all your gifts one month earlier.
As you can tell, she loved her gift.  A beautiful princess dress and a  "real" Tierra.

The Rapunzel gown even came with white gloves.  We also gave her princess paper dolls.
Just look at that big smile.  Just a bit of blue raspberry candy on her lips add a final touch.
Even Rusty Cat had to try on the rhinestone crown.

Three days later, October 29th, we were celebrating two special Birthdays. Those of our oldest Daughter and our oldest Granddaughter.  Our Granddaughter turned SWEET 16.

Here she is with her gifts from us, a fountain pen and 16 sugarcubes tied in pritty ribbon.  I remembered when i turned  sweet 16, one of my close friends made a 16 sugarcube gift for me.  I still have that gift in my cedar chest.  It was special.  So as our two daughters and other friends turned sweet 16, they also recieved this sweet gift.  I had to keep up the tradition with our sweet granddaughter.
She loved the super hero coffee mug and black "IN STYLE" leather jacket from her parents.

It is hard for me to believe it has already been 40 years ago when our beautiful daughter was born.  She has been a joy to our life.  Above she enjoys opening a gift sent from her sister in ND.
Her wonderful husband knows what she loves and needs.   The Les Miserables movie is her favorite and a beautiful big black hand bag, big enough for a  mother of five to carry all her needs.

We gave her the Magic Bullet. I recieved one for Christmas and I figured she would enjoy it as much as I have. Below she chuckles over a Rooster, hen and five little chicks, a gift from her first cousin Angel.  You can tell her youngest daughter thinks they should be hers.  They are very meaningful as our daughter has called her blog the Lutheran Hen, her husband the rooster and the 5 children, chicks.  These tiny figures now sit on her kitchen windowsill.
All us girls wore eye masks as we talked about the early theater masks due to a shortage in actors.  All this was due to our daughter having just been in a play production of  Nunset Boulevard.  She did an excellent job portraying a Nun.
Below us girls without the eye masks.

I guess one guy just had to try the eye mask.
 Very cute Berkley!
I along with our 11 yr old granddaughter had fun decorating and creating a special effect for the double birthday celebration. After a splendid meal of chinese food, it was time to sing Happy Birthday.  We had 40 candles on the delitious cheese cake,  we said the 16 candles were included in the 40.

It took awhile for the birthday girls to light all 40 candles.

I thought it very cute the way they sang Happy Birthday to each other as we all joined in singing by beautiful candlelight.
Happy Birthday to you, happy birthday to you.
God bless you today, God bless you today, God Bless you and keep you, God bless you today.

We were so thankful that we were able to attend the special Birthday and we give thanks for not only the birthday girls but our whole family.  God has richly blessed us.

I just had to show you our 16 yr old special manicure, a gift from a good friend of hers.  They were lovely.  It is always special to be pampered on your sweet 16 Birthday.
