Great day with friends!

We finally got to spend a day with our friends, Joe and Barb. It seems we have been talking about this Spearfish Canyon excursion for a couple years now. WELL, today was the day and it certainly was a beautiful day filled with fun, laughter, food and friendship.

First stop, Bridalveil falls.
Jeff and Joe, friendship for many years now.
Walking and talking!

We enjoyed a noon meal at the wonderful Latch String Restaurant.
It's one of my favorites!

On the way to Falls #2. the railroad falls that is just East and down from the restaurant.

I love this picture of our good friends, Barb and Joe.

Hey, there it is, what a powerful water fall. We could feel the cooling mist.

Me and Barb.

Joe and Barb!

The four of us.

Joe and Jeff

You can see and almost feel the mist on this picture.

Lots of pretty berries. We even spotted a Bald Eagle, other birds and a small dark colored snake.

I think the fresh air was getting to Joe, He was being just a little silly and fun!

Falls #3, Roughlock Falls.

Now we are looking forward to our next fun adventure. It was a good day!

Our oldest Grandson Confirmed June 13, 2010

Preparations for Ansir's Confirmation were many but Sunday morning, June 13th, 2010 was very special, Mom helping Ansir with his cuff buttons and tie, Papa even helped with the tie. It was a blessing to be there to witness Ansir's Confirmation.

Ansir with his two friends on the drive to their church. They got to ride with us and it was a very fun trip. We discussed what Confirmation is. Confirmation provides an opportunity for the individual Christian, relying on God's promise given in Holy Baptism, to make a personal public confession of the faith and a lifelong pledge of fidelity to Christ. It is the public rite of the church preceded by a period of instruction designed to help baptized Christians identify with the life and mission of the Christian community. Prior to admission to the Lord's Supper it is necessary to be instructed in the Christian faith.

Rev. 2:10 Be Faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you the crown of life.

Ansir's Confirmation verse was read as he was confirmed. John 14:6 Jesus said, I am the way, and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
Ansir with his mom and dad! I am proud to say that Melissa is our youngest daughter.

Shaking hands with the congregation.
Ansir just finished shaking hands with his Grandpa Sutton. Tim's father.

Melissa worked very hard on this beautiful cross confirmation cake. Ansir was very happy and proud of both the cakes she made for his special occasion. He chose the bible verse for on the sheet cake.

Ansir had a great day with lots of relatives and friends. He opened his cards and gifts in the afternoon.

Marble globe bookends from Mom and Dad that said , " Go ye therefore and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit." Matthew 28:19
These are the words of Jesus given to all of us. The empowering words of Him who came to earth to be
"God with us"

A new study Bible from his Aunt and Uncle, his sponsors.

I had to share this very cute picture of 2 little girls having a great time in the window well during the reception. I plan to post more "this and that" pictures at a later date.
