Mothers Day at Porcupine

Today we had the privilege to spend Mothers Day on the reservation spreading Gods word and His love. The message was on families and building your house on the rock and not the sand. The rock being the solid word of God. Also the 4th commandment where God tells us to Honor your father and your mother. There were a lot there and some of the children ran home to get their mothers. I believe we had 14 mothers today out of a total of about 60 people.
A young mother with several of her children and neighbor children.

Children with the health packets for their mothers or grandmother. These are all things that are appreciated and very practical. Shampoo, soap, tooth paste, wash cloth, deodorant ect.
You can see that the tissue paper flowers were a big hit. They made the flower and a special little card for their mother. Even the mothers were making them for their mothers.

Even the little boys were excited and proud to have made their mother a flower and card. This yellow card said, TO :MOM, FROM: JOEL

More children with the health kits for them to give to their mom or grandma. These were put together by a nice group in Spearfish, SD. Others were supplied by the Lutheran church in Black Hawk, SD.

The picture below, shows the inside of the van, many happy faces as we delivered the children to their homes. They were happy they had something special to give to their mother on Mothers Day.
You can see that this mother either has many, many children or she just got stuck holding and guarding this huge bunch of tissue flowers. Real live carnations were also given out for each mother.
I hope your Mothers Day was special. You can see these two mothers had a great day.

What a lovely post. It is amazing to see how God is using you to touch the lives of so many children and their families.
