White Elephant Party

Last evening we had our annual Christmas party. It was a little late so turned out to be a New Years party. Every year I choose a theme. This year was White Elephant. As you can see, we had a lot of fun. I laughed so hard I had tears rolling down my cheeks. One of the games was to tear a "White Elephant" out of a piece of white paper. They turned out very interesting.

The gift exchange is always fun. This year instead of trading after the gift was open, we had the opportunity to trade gifts before they were opened. I gave this a lot of thought and figured it would be the best idea since the gifts were "White Elephant" gifts. My husband got the traveling gift. It has been past along for over 10 years now. It's first appearance was at our first White Elephant gift exchange 10 years ago when it was a yellow bee patio table ornament or candle holder. Since that time it has been many things. Always to fit the theme of the party. Below it was a snow man for last years theme of "Let it snow" below that , the theme was "WINGS". I was not able to find all the pictures but it has been many different things. A lot of work went into this years transformation into a Elephant.
Next Years theme will be "JOY TO THE WORLD"

The food table at the end of the party. You could tell we weren't hurting for food!

Fun during the gift exchange.
Gifts ranged from relish trays, body spray, a medical self-help book, Tupperware, candle holders to . . . . . .

THE BIGGEST HIT OF THE NIGHT!

The strangest "WHITE ELEPHANT" I have ever seen!

The room was roaring with laughter!

It was a very fun evening with our friends! Happy New Year to everyone, God Bless your 2011. Just like the White Elephants, we don't know what the New Year has in store for us but we do know that Jesus Loves us, died for us and will never leave us or forsake us. His word is always true and His word is the instruction book for our lives.
