100th Birthday celebration for Aunt Ellen

My husband and I had the great pleasure to spend a week with my parents and also attend my Aunt Ellen's 100 Th Birthday celebration.    It was a great day and a glorious celebration.  She is the oldest of 11 siblings of which 6 have already past on.    Aunt Ellen is my mothers oldest sister and has seen a lot in her life time. She shared a few of those memories of the farm, family and faith.  This is my Aunt with her grandchildren.

Above is Aunt Ellen with her two daughters,  Below is with all her grandchildren and two daughters.   There were many pictures taken.  The celebration was a few months early as winter in MN is very unpredictable and it is harder for people to get away from both school and work.

This is almost the whole family minus just a couple.  One great-grandson and his wife could not attend but had made a special visit just after their wedding.

This sweet little girl is the youngest great grand-child and she certainly loves her great-grandma.
Here Aunt Ellen holds her 100th Birthday Balloon.

Her Brother , my Uncle Ed played Guitar and Aunt Ellen played several selections on her harmonica.  She has plenty of air and pep left and we all enjoyed this special talent, many of us singing along as they played.  Some of the selections were,  You are my Sunshine,  Home sweet home, a German song that my father often sings.   I can't spell the name.

All these people were attended the same old country school when they were young.  They had a blast reminiscing about their school days.
Here is her granddaughter, husband and their precious daughter.
Harriet,  Mary Ellen and Gloria
Three cousins who lived within walking distance when they were growing up.  Aunt Ellen and her sister Aunt Adeline, (the mother of Mary Ellen, center)  both married brothers and lived near Clear Brook MN.  Aunt Ellen has always been and still is a great example of Christian love and Faith to all who know her. She loved her husband, children and honored her parents even when the times were tough.  She will tell all that it is Gods strength and forgiveness that gets us through life and that one day we will be taken from this earth to live with Christ Jesus forever.

This is the Good Samaritan home where Aunt Ellen lives now.  They love her there and take very good care of her.  You can tell from the below picture that the yard is beautiful with flowers, benches and a bridge over a pond.

The cake was more then half served when I thought to take a picture but at least it still had the 100.  There were several beautiful bouquets of flowers for Aunt Ellen.
Aunt Ellens oldest daughters children,  Kerwin, Lester and Miriam sang a few hymn's and Pastor Lester led everyone in a beautiful closing devotion and prayer.  Below are a few vidios from Aug 29 th 100 Birthday celebration.  I hope you can hear them.   The second one is THE FAMILY BIBLE that reminds us all of the family these children were brought up in.  I thank God for that heritage of Gods love and His Word being taught and a big part in our lives.

Happy Birthday song with God Bless you today as the second verse.  Happy 100 th Birthday Aunt Ellen and God BlessYou.
