Story Book Island

In mid July our very good friends Ryan and Leslie spent a week in our fine city with Leslie's parents. I was very happy to spend some time with them. Here you can see how excited they are to be going to Story Book Island. Below is their 2 year old daughter who was extremely excited.

ON THE CASTLE GATE!

Lets see the rest of this famous Story Book Island!

Checking for the "POT OF GOLD".

That little RED CAR that Claire was looking for from the time we got through the gate. She spotted it on our way in the gate!

Our famous Yogi Bear, in the picnic basket picture. Years ago when our children were as small as our grandchildren, every time we went to Story Book Island, we just had to take the Yogi/picnic basket picture.

Grandma showing Snow White.

Wow! It's Noah's Ark

Mom gives Claire a kiss and carries her for awhile since she has gotten very tired.

Unlike most children, she wants to check out the BIG BAD WOLF!

Grandma and Claire on the fire truck, Grandma loving her time with her sweet granddaughter.

Leslie with her mom, sit for a rest!

Claire swinging just before saying good-by to the fun park.

My daughter and 5 children spent a week with us in mid June.
We enjoyed a visit to Story Book Island.

At the entrance.

By the castle gate.

The crocked little man had a crocked little house. Chick #3 and 4 peek out the door.

The three little pigs.

The newest addition to Story Book Island is the Pirate Ship.

Big brother showing chick #5 the ship.

Now this is fun for the little ones.

Big brother again being a big help. The tunnel is fun.

All five chicks get in on the fun.

Close to the same size. Chick #5 is one 3/4 yr old.

Now how did this steam engine work!

The children's theater was great. Alice in wonderland.

Round and around we go!
Taking time for some FUN!

Once again, time for the famous Yogi / picnic basket picture.

Chick # 3 has always had a thing for these Wizard of Oz characters. She even sewed a Dorothy dress for Halloween and had a special Oz birthday party.

Chick #4 enjoying the 101 Dalmatians.

Chick #1 sits under a tree for shade and rest. She is at that age where things just arnt quite as fun as they used to be. We all remember that age, right?

The train ride. Chick #3 and #4 are both in white cars!

It was a very fun day, Time to go home to Nana's house. I certainly enjoyed my time with them all. I am so glad they got to come in summer so the little ones could see and enjoy Story Book Island.

I sure wish I could have came down and joined in on the fun. And although Adri is at that stage when things are not quite as fun she will discover that in time they will be again when she heads down memory lane. Thank's for sharing the pictures.
