Late Baptism, adoption celebration for grandchildren

Jeff and I were not able to be with our grandchildren as they became a part of our family through Adoption and as they  became a part of Gods family through Holy Baptism.
We brought special gifts to help in the late celebration.

In place of wrapping paper, I wrapped the gifts in beach towels as I know they will make good use of them.

The gifts will remind our Grandchildren of Jesus love for them.  Our 6 yr old granddaughter got the picture of Jesus loves the children.

Our 5 yr old grandson got Jesus calling his helpers, saying, Come follow me and I will make you fishers of men.
It didn't take our grandson long until he started singing the song,  "Follow me,  follow me, and I will make you fishers of men."  He was so thrilled there was a song that went with his picture.

Our Granddaughter thought for a few minutes and then started to sing  "Jesus Loves Me, this I know, for the bible tells me so."       and even another song to go with her picture.
"Jesus loves the little children, all the children of the world, red and yellow black and white, they are precious in His site, Jesus loves the little children of the world."

I wrote a message on  the back of each picture as I had with all our other grandchildren and even a few foster grandchildren.   Dezzi did a excellent job sounding out the words and reading her message of Jesus with the Children as found in the Gospel of Matthew, 19: 14
Lucas could not read his message that came from Matthew 4: 18-20  but he could read his name and recognize Nana and Papa.    The following day they each found a special place in their room and the picture was hung there.    We talked about their Baptism and they showed me many cards and gifts that they had received that special day.  I told them their mommy and daddy love them very much to take them to church, have them Baptized and teach them to pray.   I give thanks to God that my parents loved me enough to do the same for me and my brother. It is a very special love.
While we were visiting Melissa, Tim and family,  a family friend brought over a stray dog that had been found along the road.  This poor thing,  she was so weak, skinny and dehydrated.  Other then that she was disease free.  She had a chip that said her name was Adel but her owners were no where to be found.  Maybe had to leave town due to job cuts or some such thing.  We will never know the full story of Adel but she sure is a sweet dog.
As we looked in those big sad eyes, we thought she might be one of the dogs on those very sad heart wrenching TV commercials.

It did not take long for her to get her strength back and fit right in with the other dogs.  She is a good pet and loved very much.  She knows she has a good home with the Suttons where she will be safe, fed and loved.
'
We enjoyed some beautiful 80 degree weather while we were there.   We all worked together to get part of their garden planted.  The children were so excited and helped a lot.

Planting potatoes.

She really caught on fast and made holes
 and also covered the potatoes.

Melissa raises the rows for most of the vegetables.

Lots of seeds.

Now if you are a little boy,  and you need to cover the potatoes with dirt,  you run to your room and get your Tonka loader tractor.   It might have taken a bit longer, but it sure made it fun and it worked just fine!
Little boys have plenty of time for work like this.

When you have a garden that big,  you certainly need a "garden map."
Who would have guessed that our grandson would have a good use for the tape measure he got for his birthday along with his tool box.    He was very proud to help his Nana measure the width between the rows.

Planting onion sets.

Time for a break and a cool treat, Popsicle.

We had a great time paining on rocks.  These rocks might be used to outline a flower bed or part of the garden.

We painted rainbows, hearts, flowers, crosses,  and even made lady bugs out of the smaller rocks.  It started to get dark and she still didn't want to quit!  We had to continue the next day.

Lucas had looked forward to Nana helping him paint the wood loader kit we got him for his 5th birthday.  He and his dad had a good time building it a few weeks earlier.
He made all the decisions as to what color paint for each part of the tractor loader.  I think he did a excellent job painting it and also choosing colors.  He has so much patience and wants to do a good job at whatever he dose.
YES!  We had fun!

The finished paint job looked great.

Now after it is dry, he gives it a try on the living room floor.
Yep, it works good and can load a lot of magnet toys.
Notice how Ruby cat loves Papa.

We brought some souvenirs from our Hawaiian vacation.  We thought these matching shirt and sun dress would look cute on the grandchildren.  They liked them a lot and also the shell necklace that we brought back for them.  They wore their new Hawaii cloths to church that Sunday.

Lucas looking very sharp in his new Hawaiian shirt with the real coconut buttons.  Oh,  lets not forget the shell Leigh.

Below, Dezzi looks beautiful in her new Sun dress.  She thought it would be better to wear a matching t-shirt under it for church and especially since it was still a little cool outside.

Jeff and I were proud to have our picture taken with our new grandchildren.  They are a blessing from God and we are thankful to Melissa and Tim for the love they have shown to so many foster children and also being loving Christian parents to Ansir and these two precious children.
