October Birthdays, Honor concert and Halloween

The end of October brought 3 fun events at our oldest daughter's location.
First and main event,   celebrate our oldest daughter and oldest granddaughter who share Oct 29th as their Birthday.  It is so fun to watch them share the day, the cake and wish each other a special Happy Birthday.

It wasn't a big party, just family but with me and papa, 5 children and our daughter and husband, it is quite a group.

The cake is from where our daughter works part time,
They are a rich, delicious (many flavors to chose from) cake.

Posing with the lit candles.
Opening the gifts is always a fun time.
Papa picked out a special card for our 18 year old granddaughter. From look on her face,
I think she liked it.

Yea, special husker socks and
t-shirt for a loyal fan.
Our daughter's gifts.

Guess who gets the first slice of cake?  It is Red Velvet, YUM!

Always have time to play "shopping" with our youngest granddaughter.   Below is Rusty cat in his favorite spot at the window.

Every year Seward Concordia has a Honor concert with choir and band.  This is for the elite voices and have to be chosen after the try-outs.   Our Grandson made the choir and also some other friends of ours also.  It was a beautiful concert and great to see so many intusiastic young people share their God given talent.

This is our grandson with a good friend
who also made the choir.

Carving the pumpkins proved to be interesting.
They turned out very nice with a little help from mom.

The 3 youngest grandchildren dressed up for trick or treat.

Our middle granddaughter came up with this fun idea for the trick or treaters who came to their door.  One box had the goodies and candy but the other two not so much.  One had french cut green beans and the other had pealed grapes. Yuk!   It was a big hit with the kids and they had many trick or theaters.
Mom just had to try her luck at choosing a box.  I think she got the YUK!

The cowboy is a neighbor and friend who always
goes trick or treating with them.

There were many cute, funny trick or theaters that were so fun to watch.
 I especially loved this costume.

Me and Papa with the 3 younger grand kids.  The two older grand kids joined several friends at the movie theater.
The big event is checking out the candy and trading.  It happens every year.
The children trade while the adults enjoy a relaxing evening and visit.
Papa always gets a lot of hugs and attention
 from the tiny one.
Oh and how he loves it.

There has been a special bond
since she was only days old.

Just look at that sweet Innocent boy with the beautiful eyes.  Love that boy!

YIKES!  Just look at that girl with the big eyes!   YIKES AGAIN!
That is more like it!
 Sweet as can be!

This is her first year at piano lessons and she has already learned so much.  She takes her playing very serious and seems to enjoy it too.
Thanks Giving decorations and below, all five grandchildren ready for the feast
 at their Grandma Helen's home.
