Green Again

After a very dry hot summer, our lawn has finally greened out again. We have had 13 days of 100+ degree weather this summer. Even yesterday got up to 103 degrees. With the 1 1/2 inch rain last Friday and a few little sprinkles throughout the week, and our watering both garden and lawn, I actually got to mow lawn on Thursday. I love a fresh mown lawn. We hope it stays green now until the snow flies.
We are expecting more heat this coming week. Just in the high 90's though. Today and tomorrow, is a cold wave with temp in the 80's. You can see all our fire wood, we have a wood burning stove in our family room and soon, this fall and winter, we will be using that fire wood. It makes it cozy warm!

You can see where the lawn had been the brownest. There are always more weeds on a dry year, I think that's because a weed can almost grow from the moisture in the air. It's kind of like sin, doesn't take much for sin to grab hold and control our life. If we don't repent of those sins and ask God's help through life, those sin weed's grab hold and sink their roots deep within our life and only God by his gracious forgiveness through His Son Jesus can uproot them.
We learn how important water is to keep our lawn green and fresh, Jesus said He is the living Water, we need Him on a regular basis to keep us fresh and alive.
John 4:10 Jesus Answered her, "If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water."
John 4:14 but whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.
