Much Needed RAIN !

This was last evening around 8 PM. It was quite a storm. It rained harder then we had seen in a few years. It has been a very dry hot summer so the rain was very much welcomed even if it did come fast and furious.
A few years ago the city redid the street in front of our home and put in all new storm drains. This was the most water we had seen on that street since then. It was fun watching the cars splash trough the deep water.

See all those leaves on our patio? Believe me, we have seen worse but this was a result from the hail that accompanied the rain. There was barely any wind but a lot of sharp, strong, straight up and down lightening.

This is a picture of some of the Hail. This had already melted down some but was about the size of a golf ball. It's a good thing there weren't too many of these size or there would have been nothing left of our garden. Below is a picture of the Hail by a tea spoon. Just South of here they had softball size hail and that did a lot of damage to homes and cars.

But, it was all worth it for the 1 1/2" rain we received. I don't know if our rain gauge has ever had that much rain in it at one time. This was over and done within 3/4 hour.

My final picture is of all the water setting in our garden. It is a raised garden and really did soak in nicely after the rain stopped. We thank God for the gift of Rain. Our lakes are way down and this will certainly be a help. My parent's who live in ND have had a rain filled week.
Early Sunday morning they received 4 1/2 " in 2 hours and then again on Wed. they got 1 1/2".
Their ground is way richer and better then ours and can really handle the moisture.
