This past weekend My husband had his Lay Leadership Meeting about 3 hours away in our state capital city. Since this was close to the Missouri River,we decided to take a fun, long weekend and do our first fishing of the season! We has no reason to hurry back since our school bus driving/aid jobs are finished for the school year. The Lay Leadership meeting was in this big beautiful church. It also has such colorful stained glass windows along each side. While my husband was studying hard, Our dog and I enjoyed the wonderful day.
Since we took the camper van, I drove it back to the peaceful camp sight. I backed it into place and you can see how close I got to lining it up to the boat hitch. That was a first and it may have been more luck then skill! The camp ground/park was so well kept and absolutely beautiful with the huge trees and freshly mown grass.
After the meeting I picked up my husband and we went out on the river for a couple hours. The fish weren't biting but I sure did get some nice pictures of some landmarks etc.
Here we are at the boat dock ready to put the boat on the river. You can see our navigator dog! He likes to be up front and of course all business when we are about to catch fish! He is thinking I should put down the camera and get out the fishing rod!

It was such a pretty, still evening. These loon's were enjoying the peaceful Missouri River as well.
This old tug boat #IV sits at the boat dock as a reminder of days gone by.
This old train trestle is just beautiful. It is still used by trains. It has a section that swivels sideways to let big ships through. It is no longer in uses as the new road bridge is too low for a big tall ship or sail boat.
It looked especially nice with the sunset.
Here you can see the State Capital across the river from our boat.

It was along this edge where we caught most of our fish on Sunday afternoon.
This is the river from over the dam. It sure is pretty and everything is so green with all the moisture we have had this spring. We are still having a few thunderstorms and heavy rain, sometimes even hail daily.
